Job Summary 

The Manufacturing Operator II is responsible for performing manufacturing procedures and executing diverse tasks on various manufacturing equipment including but not limited to blending, coating, compression, encapsulation, granulation, and softgel. Additionally, the Operator will have extensive knowledge in at least two machines. Following company Standard Operating Procedures, the Operator II will execute set-up, operation, sanitization and cleaning of equipment. This position is responsible for adhering to current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) guidelines and all Environmental, Health and Safety guidelines as well as maintaining high standards in compliance and quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up, operates, clean and troubleshoots encapsulation and Gelatin preparation equipment.
  • Properly and completely document activities on Batch Records.
  • Clean processing rooms and demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
  • Perform intermediate troubleshooting on product and equipment problems.
  • Material handling.
  • May be trained and required to operate additional production equipment including coating, tablet press and granulation.
  • All other job related duties

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:                                                                                  

  •  High School Degree or equivalent
  • Basic math skills.
  • Operate with strict adherence to SOPs and cGMPS.
  • Departmental safety rules.
  • Operate and troubleshoot semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
  • Operate scientific, calibrated, test equipment.
  • Stand, walk, lift to 30 kg (65 lbs.), pull materials with pallet jack to 600 kg (1320 lbs.) and roll drums to 150 kg (300 lbs.)
  • Good dexterity and eye hand coordination.

Physical Demands/Factors:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.  The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands; talk; and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
