Job Summary:

This position is responsible for all financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions of the plant. This position is a key business partner with facility management team helping to improve efficiencies, increase cost savings and achieve performance targets while delivering on an accurate and reliable monthly close.

Reporting Relationships                                

This is an individual contributor.

Essential Functions:

  • Direct the financial control and accounting activities of the plant to ensure accurate and timely preparation, recording, analysis, and communication of data necessary to control operations.
  • Help develop, monitor, and report on various KPIs and performance measures relevant to the plant, identifying areas for improvement inclusive or product costing.
  • Manage month end closing process for the plant, ensuring accuracy of transactions in compliance with US GAAP. 
  • Prepare financial and operating reports. Analyze performance against forecast and budgets.
  • Lead the development of annual budget and forecasts with strong plant operations engagement on the production floor.
  • Analyze plant operating costs in detail and recommend action to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.
  • Assist in preparation of financial justifications for plant capital projects, with strong collaboration between engineering and plant management team.
  • Perform analysis of inventory levels, including the calculation and recording of appropriate reserves.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and accurate. Assist with audit requests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:                              

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance required, CPA and/or MBA preferred 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of increasing responsibility in manufacturing environment, with strong understanding of standard cost and variance reporting.
  • Knowledgeable in the areas of US GAAP, cost accounting, fixed assets, and operation performance analysis.
  • ERP system experience required – SAP preferred.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:                 

  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify and succinctly communicate financial issues, opportunities, or threats to the operating and financial performance of the manufacturing site.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to distill information for its intended audience 
  • Strong PC skills including advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong financial, analytical, and technical accounting skills with the ability to provide effective financial analysis and insight of implications of operational trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment in order to achieve business and financial results in a fast-paced growth environment with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs as necessary.
  • Ability to contribute ideas to address business issues

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills, decision making capabilities and thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP as it relates to Revenue Recognition inventory accounting with hands on experience performing inventory close related activities in a standard and actual cost environment.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills and an effective cross-functional communicator.
  • Self-starter with ability to take initiative, guide, and influence others toward goal achievement.
