Job Summary:

Sr Manager Production ensures that the manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently as per production schedule. Responsibilities of the job include, planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, delegating work schedule, Training/mentoring subordinates, estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales, ensuring that health and safety regulations are met, overseeing production processes.The Sr. Manager Production will directly report to Director of Manufacturing Operations and will assist throughout the manufacturing operation as necessary.

Reporting Relationships                                           

•  This position has approximately 4 direct reports.

Essential Functions:

• Accountable for finished dosage/ contract operations at low cost and high customer service
• Production planning.
• Maintaining all cGMP and other regulatory requirements and standards
• Maintaining a highly motivated and participative organization
• Ensuring coordination with allied and support operations, both internal and external (regulatory/ compliance, QA, QC, Supply Chain, Development & Maintenance)
• Compile and verify batch records
• Conduct cGMP training
• Revise and follow SOPs
• Manage subordinates which includes but is not limited to hiring, disciplinary coaching, training, administration, and paperwork.
• Collaborates with the Technical team, Engineering, Quality and Plant Employees, supervisors in finding innovative ways to improve production efficiency.
• Motivates production team thru training, information sharing, mentoring, feedback, unbiased evaluations and task delegation.
• Provide recommendations for terminations, promotions, demotions, transfers, and wage increases
• Follow and enforce safety procedures
• All other job-related duties

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:                                                                 

• Bachelor of Science in a technical, science or engineering field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceuticals is desired
• Minimum 5 years of production management experience required
• Knowledge of all manufacturing equipment and processes
• Skilled in working with all manufacturing quality personnel
• Strong overall understanding of the generic pharmaceutical business
• Ability to identify and develop a skilled workforce, including management development
•  Strong interpersonal; and communication skills

Physical Demands/Factors:

Work is primarily sedentary in nature; routine bending, walking, lifting and reaching are required. The employee may occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
